About the Southern Basketball Association

The Southern Basketball Association is located in Tulip Street Cheltenham where it’s main stadium is located. This is currently a four court stadium but will soon have four more courts added to it. You can find out more about the Association and it’s competitions by CLICKING HERE.

Games are played at the Association’s main stadium at Tulip street and at satelitte courts at Mentone Girls Secondary College, Parkdale Secondary College and at Mentone Grammar. The Association has over ten domestic clubs within it’s membership and runs a plethora of junior domestic competitions.

The Templar Warriors are looking to field as many boys and girls teams as possible in coming seasons.

A Special Note covering this season

The Southern Basketball Association has advised us that for this season they won’t be accepting any entries from “new” teams and will only be accepting teams that are currently playing in the current Autumn season. The reason for this is that the addition of four new courts to their current stadium won’t be completed in time for the Spring season and the Association is already well above capacity.

This means that we can only enter our current teams which are an Under 10 Girls team, two Under 12 boys teams and one Under 18 Boys team. Due to this, we will be giving priority to currently registered players until June 9th. After that people who register and pay for their child will have priority.

Despite this, we still encourage parents to register their son/daughter in these age groups or other age groups as we will be looking into other competitions to enter further teams into. We are also entering teams into tournaments. So we advise you to still register your child and let us look after team placement for them,  whether that be in one of our current teams for the SBA’s Spring Season or an alternative not long after. Simply complete our registration form below and we will look after the rest.
