BMBA Basketball Competions in 2024

The BMBA is excited to announce that it will be commencing it’s own domestic competitions in 2024. Commencing from Term two at Westall Primary School, the BMBA will be working to build domestic competitions at multiple venues across all age groups for both boys and girls competitions.

These won’t be just your normal competitions either, they will have plenty of features other competitions just don’t provide.

Our juniors in our BMBA competitions will enjoy the following through these competitions:

—->  Longer Game Times

—->  Independent knowledgeable coaching

—->  A high standard of refereeing

—->  Competition rule that put player development first

—->  An exciting end of season tournament where all teams participate

—->  Transparent selection and formation of teams where we attempt to make every teams as competitive as possible.

—->  As our coaches are in paid roles they will be directed t assist each other to ensure their is the appropriate respect for

        the game, the participants, the facilities and the officials.

We put these competitions features in place when we ran competitions for the Oakleigh Basketball Association and our kids then absolutely loved their competitions.

At this stage we will be running Boys competitions on Saturdays and girls on Sundays, though this could change if we get feedback that it would beneficial before then. To make it easier to form teams we will be conducting competitions in age groups of Under 8’s, Under 10’s, Under 12’s, Under 14’s, Under 16’s and Under 18’s.

We are excited to be introducing local basketball competitions for the youth in the Mulgrave/Springvale/Westall suburbs and the surrounding regions to begin with. We alos look forward to making announcements about further competitions in other areas as well.

We hope you can share in that excitement by helping us form teams and build these competitions. If you are interested then click on the green button below to register your interest and we’ll be in contact shortly.

  • —->  What we teach at training will complement what we apply in games.
  • —->  Players will learn offensive and defensive structures to complement their skill level and development.
  • —->  BMBA coaches will be able to track players development and progress to allocate roles and responsibilities during games.
  • —->  What we teach at training will be reinforced in games.
  • —->  Boys and Girls who participate through our training will also received tailored, planned sessions whenever they register
