The BMBA is looking for coaches and referees for training programs, school clinics and competitions. Refer below for role descriptions and if interested please get in contact with me via my email bob_mann@bmba.net,au.
Coaches: We are looking for coaches to conduct our training programs, coach our domestic teams and ultimately our representative teams. Training is conducted mid-week and on weekends, with current teams competition in domestic competitions at the Southern Basketball Association. We are looking preferably for applicants with previous representative playing or coaching experience, but we will consider all applications.
Referees: From Term Two this year, we will be conducting our own domestic competitions on Saturdays for junior boys and Sundays for junior girls. We are looking for referees who understand how important their roles are to the game and will treat those roles with the respect and diligence these roles demand. Our bottom line is that we want to develop the best referees group in Melbourne to help us develop the best junior competitions possible.
School Clinic Coaches and Promotion Officers: We are receiving a high volume of school bookings for in-school clinics. This is where we visit schools during school hours to run clinics for students. Last year we ran clinics for 20 schools and over 5,000 students. We already have seven schools booked in for the first eight weeks of the school year, with more interested. The role needs you to go to these schools to conduct clinics between 30 and 50 minutes long and involves up to 30 students in each class.
This role is ideal for University students with playing experience that has the ability to follow a training plan and demonstrate and coach skills. We will also need these people to promote the BMBA to schools, teachers and most importantly students.
